Troop Elections- From Oliver's Blog

Tonight was the Troop 90 patrol leader elections, although we changed a few other positions as well.
I was met with many compliments on how nice the Troop blog was turning out.

In the main election, a face-off between Dean and Logan, Dean was elected Senior Patrol Leader and Logan became his ASPL.
In other elections, the Cobra Patrol elected Kevin Hamabatta as our Patrol Leader and Sean McKeon became our Assistant Patrol Leader.
Skyler and I also switched positions a little, Skyler becoming the IT Scribe and myself becoming the IT Historian. His job will be to do main editing of the newly bought Troop website, and mine will be normal historian duties, providing pictures and such to the website, and other techy jobs such as designing a header or other elements in Photoshop, as well as work a little with the website and blog.

On other matters, we found a pile of Obama bumper stickers that read Bush's Third Term: McCain, similar to the actual McCain campaign sign, symbolizing that if McCain was elected, it would be like Bush having another term.

Afterwards, we talked about things and I became dubbed "Ort" in the trend of Matthew being "Mrt" and Skyler being "Skr."

I left informing Sean that he needed to go home rocking out the McDonald's jingle.

Dave:

I heard a few people talking about how it became a pain sending an email to every Scout in the Troop for every event or notice. Skyler mentioned making a blog to ease this process, but I guess just never got around to making it.
With this blog, you can make a post with detailed information and even photos, and then anyone who has entered their email into the box at the right will receive an instant update on the Troop's plans. This saves you the trouble to typing in the emails of every person when there is an upcoming event.
Another bonus is the fact that rather than an email, which can be easily deleted for misplaced, blog posts stay here and be easily found on command by either the Blog Archive or the Categories menu (both at right). Categories will include category tags to create (such as "Eagle COH," "Camping Trips," etc.) which will give the reader access to any posts with with those labels.
So far you, Skyler, and I can all contribute to the blog, but you can edit any settings under "Customize"
Under the same link, you can also add emails to the Receive section, so that those emails will receive an email when you make a new post.
